In the pink

Mum asked me if I would make a card for Romy, my grand-daughter, who is one next week. So out came Tilda again. She looks so cute. These pretty pink papers just had to be used. I used a Martha Stewart border punch. Finished off with a pink bow and a sentiment. I think she will like it. Thanks for looking. Happy Crafting! Kathleen x

The Cuttlebug Spot! - Favorite Flowers

Favorite Flowers
This challenge by The Cuttlebug Spot! asked us to make a project using our favourite flowers and to include some embossing on our project. I used Tilda (again) because she is my favourite, stamped onto card and mounted onto blue card using the cuttlebug. I made my flower from Creatables by Marianne design. A little blue ribbon is threaded through and finished off with a brad. What a lovely effect. The white circle has been embossed with two little butterflies added. A daisy punch, and a little bow to finish off. Tilda has been watercoloured with Tombow pens. I hope you like it, and thanks for looking. Happy Crafting! Kathleen x

WOYWW - 28th April

Wow - Where has the week gone. It's Wednesday again already. This past week I have been busy making Craftrak Trakking cards. They are A7 in size and you trade them on-line at http://www.craftrak.com/ . You make a card, send it to someone and you receive a card right back. It's good fun and you make so many friends. I have entered a few challenges. I have made my first christmas card and entered it in the Winter Wonderland Relaunch Challenge. At the moment I am making a card for my grand-daughter who is one in a fortnight's time. I am using Tilda again, I think she is so cute! The card isn't finished yet, I am going to add a few embellishments to it. That flowery box you saw last week under my desk? No, it's not a sewing machine. They are boxes I got from Matalan in which I keep all my finished cards . On the floor is my box of stamps in a lovely cardboard box! I should maybe get another flowery box for them too! Behind me is a bookcase which holds punches, paper, card etc. The boxes are all labelled with coloured flowers. They are full of scraps. On the bottom shelf I have all my magazines. Looking forward to having a peek at other craftdesks. Have a good week and thanks for looking. Happy Crafting. Kathleen x

Winter Wonderland Relaunch Challenge

"Anything goes for Christmas"
I can't believe that I am actually making a christmas card in April! I saw the challenge and I thought - "What a good idea to make one card a week and not a mad rush at the last minute. So into the cupboard I went and hauled all my christmas stash out. Had great fun looking through all the sparkles and glitter, snowflakes and snowmen! I came accross this lovely paper "Figgy Pudding" by Basicgrey which I mounted onto cardstock. The corners were done on the cuttlebug as were the scalloped square. I stamped the snowman onto white card. (Sorry, can't remember the name) and finished off with a snowflake, ribbon and little stones from my stash! I hope you like my card and thanks for looking! Lothian Crafts - Challenge 1

It's my son-in-law's birthday in a couple of weeks and I am always stuck for ideas for men. Why are they so difficult? However, he is mad on motorbikes so that was a start anyway. Stamped and mounted onto cardstock. Used my favourite cuttlebug again for the scalloped edges. A Martha Stewart punch for a border, a little ribbon, pearls and a sentiment. I got inspiration for the layout from Lothiancrafts who have set a challenge. I think I will enter with this card. All I've got to do now is think of something to buy for a present! Thanks for looking. Happy Crafting. Love Kathleen x

Just Magnolia Week 52 - Anything goes

What a lovely sunny afternoon. Hubby away playing golf and me crafting. I should really be out in the garden. So much to do.
This is Tilda looking very thoughtful! "What can I get up to next?" she says. The lovely blue and silver paper is from s.e.i. mounted onto cardstock. I used Martha Stewart punch down the left side and added lace and ribbon down the right and two little pearls at the top. I used the cuttlebug for the swirls in the two corners. My creatables by Marianne design which I only got last week has been well used already. I just love it. It looks so delicate. Two little butterflies have been punched, To get that glittery sparkling effect on the butterflies I brushed clear ink onto vellum, sprinkled clear embossing powder and heat embossed then punched. A lovely touch that I learnt at a crafting class I go to. Have used it often. Am entering this card in the Just Magnolia challenge. There are so many beautiful designs on the website. It is so hard to choose my favourite, I think I love them all! Happy crafting. Thanks for looking. Kathleen x

Just us Girls Week 29 - It's color challenge time

I thought I would try my first challenge! I love challenges! Here goes - We were to use pastel colours for Lisa's birthday card. Lovely pink, lavender, green and yellow (optional). I used a Tilda stamp whom I adore, She is opening all her birthday presents. Lucky her! She has been water coloured using Tombow pens and then mounted onto a silver scalloped circle. I love my cuttlebug too! I used two embossing folders - swirls and swiss dots. The lovely lavender flower was made from creatables by Marianne design. I threaded lavender ribbon through and finished off with a little pearl from my stash. I punched pink and white daisies and added a little pearl. The fern punch was a Martha Stewart. All brought together with a Happy Birthday and a little yellow butterfly. I hope you like it, I enjoyed making it. Thankyou for looking. And a Happy Birthday Lisa! Happy Crafting. Kathleen x

Craftrak Card Exchange

I have been making cards and exchanging them with other like minded crafters. I have received many lovely cards and made friends with so many people. Here are a few of my cards. I hope you like them. Thankyou for looking. Happy Crafting x

1st Birthday Card

I made this card for my grand-daughter's first birthday, not that she will appreciate it but her mum will! I used pitter patter by Making Memories mounted onto pink cardstock. I used my cuttlebug for the scalloped circle, the border was an embossing folder edged with white lace. Tilda stamp which I love watercoloured with Tombow pens. Daisy punch and Martha Stewart fern with a little pearl from my stash. I went shopping yesterday and picked up Creatables by Marianne Designs in the bottom left hand corner. You thread ribbon through the holes to make a delightful flower and I added a little button to finish it off! Oh and I added a "one" in the corner. I hope you like it! Thanks for looking! Happy Crafting! Kathleen x

Hi

Hi, My name is Kathleen, and I have been card making for about 6 years now. I love it and I think I am addicted to it. I am married and have two grown-up children, they left home and I took over their bedroom and turned it into a craft room. I have two grandchildren whom I adore. When my daughter announced her engagement, we started looking at wedding invitations and the price! That was the start for me. Why don't we make our own? It didn't stop there. We made invitations, place names and favours. I have never stopped. I was hooked. Here is a sample of my first attempt at card making. I hope you like them! Love to hear your comments. x
